OnePlus is on the edge of introducing its new flagship “OnePlus 12” which is scheduled to launch on December 5th in China. In the lead-up to this event, a series of leaks and official teasers have gradually unveiled the phone’s expected technical features and specifications. Digital Chat Station, a well-known source for smartphone leaks, has recently provided some details about the OnePlus 12 display.
OnePlus 12 Display Specifications
According to the leak, the OnePlus 12 will boast a 6.82-inch BOE AMOLED Display. This screen is not just large but also comes with high resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels and rapid 120Hz refresh rate. The display 2K+ quality is further enhanced by its 2160Hz PWM dimming capability and dense 510-pixel count, which is achieved through a diamond-shaped pixel layout. One notable feature is the DC dimming, designed to reduce eye strain during extended use.
Official teasers from OnePlus have already highlighted the display’s impressive maximum brightness of 4500 nits. However, tests by Digital Chat Station have shown that the actual brightness peaks at 1722 nits. This difference suggests the possible integration of a “Sunlight” algorithm in the OnePlus 12 for balancing comfortable outdoor use with energy efficiency. The integration of Oppo’s Display P1 chip and a precise pixel-level calibration algorithm are expected to significantly enhance display quality, brightness, and efficiency.
The OnePlus 12’s display has already made waves in the 2K segment in China and also has DisplayMate A+ certification for its superior quality.
Moving beyond the display, OnePlus has also teased some details about the phone’s camera setup. The OnePlus 12 is expected to feature a triple rear camera system. This includes a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor, 64MP OmniVision periscope lens, and 48MP Sony IMX581 ultra-wide lens. Additionally, it will share the same 13-channel multi-spectral sensor found in the OnePlus 11.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 12 will come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, supported by up to 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and massive 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Its battery capacity is impressive too, with 5400 mAh battery and 100W charging adapter.
