The smartphone giant OnePlus company has launched its third open beta of OxygenOS 14 for OnePlus 11. Every app on the phone can now run at a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This means smoother scrolling and better visuals.

The software on OnePlus 11 now reads OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14. This marks the third beta version. Along with this comes a Android security patch 5th October 2023.
You can identify the update by firmware version CPH2447_14.0.0.82(SP01EX01) which also alongside with “Beta version.” The size for the update is 792.36 MB
How It Performs
Using the Geekbench app the phone’s scores are impressive. It hits 2023 for a single core and reaches 5386 for multiple cores. But a note of caution: using the phone in high-performance mode might make it a bit slow for some.
New Features
Animations on the phone are now smoother. There’s a new media button in the settings. But it stays there even if no music plays. Some might find this a bit unnecessary because you can’t take it off.
In the settings area, words stand out more. They’re bolder. There’s a neat line between each option which makes things tidy.
Controlling Refresh Rate
The big news is about controlling screen refresh rates. Earlier OnePlus set limits. Some apps could only run at 60Hz. Now users have a choice. They can pick 60Hz or the faster 120Hz for any app. This includes popular ones like YouTube. We might see this feature in other OnePlus models soon.
One Less Feature
A feature that was similar to iOS’s Dynamic Island is now gone. It’s unclear why OnePlus took it out and if it will return.
All in all, OnePlus 11’s OxygenOS 14 beta update is turning heads. It promises to give users a faster and more fluid experience.
