You can identify this update by its version 2.0.4 and the update size is 58.01 MB which will be downloaded within a minute. The update is rolling out in stages so you might receive it very soon. The company has already announced this update on its social platforms.
Nothing OS 2.0.4 Update Changes for Phone (1)
The Nothing OS 2.0.4 update is still based on Android 13 but it’s getting features from Phone (2) which is currently running Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14. It’s great to see that the company is bringing new features to its existing phone.
One of the standout features in this update is the Hidden Icons Compartment. By simply swiping to the left side of the app drawer, users will see a section where they can secretly store apps, effectively hiding them from the primary app drawer view. Alongside this, the new Photo Widget is set to charm users by allowing them to showcase their favorite photos either on the home screen or the lock screen.
Apart from the new improvements, the lock screen’s charging tooltip, for instance has seen a makeover. It now more accurately reflects the actual charging speed, ensuring users get a clearer picture of their phone’s charging status. Simultaneously, glitches like the rare issue with lock screen widgets not displaying correctly after a restart have been addressed.
Moreover, the next changes is for WhatsApp users where the cloned version of WhatsApp on the Nothing Phone (1) now works perfectly with App Locker, making app usage more secure. The Wi-Fi hotspot stability is improved than before to make it more reliable while sharing your phone’s internet. Rounding up the update are the general bug fixes to ensure the phone runs smoothly and efficiently.
