Last month, Nothing announced that they were going to select some users for Closed Beta test program for Phone (1) based on Android 14. They circulated a form through the discord server to select 40 members from the community and after a week they announced that Nothing Phone (1) users that were selected for Nothing OS 2.5 Closed Beta are now contacted.
Nothing OS 2.5 Closed Beta 1 for Nothing Phone (1)
Today we have a leak that suggests that Nothing OS 2.5 Closed Beta update has been provided to those selected users. We have screenshots that clearly show that the user has a closed beta update on Phone (1). The About Phone section shows that the phone is running on Nothing OS 2.5.1 Beta 1 based on Android 14.
We have also got the changelog, which contains all the changes and feature additions that this update brings to Phone (1). This update brings almost all the features that Phone (2) got with the Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 2 update which includes changes in customization, Glyph Interface, gestures, and some other improvements. The update size is 1.22 GB.
The Nothing OS 2.5 Closed Beta update for Phone (1) was delayed due to some reasons that were confirmed by the community moderator, but now it’s been released to the selected users, and considering the update timeline, we can expect an Open beta update for Phone (1) to arrive by December end or early 2024.
