In the fiercely competitive world of chipsets, Mediatek’s upcoming Dimensity 9300 has set a new benchmark. Recently, it made a staggering appearance on AnTuTu’s database. With a score of 2 million, this SoC has not only set a new high but also turned many heads in the tech industry.
Featuring a unique octa-core CPU, the Dimensity 9300 is designed with 4 Cortex-X4 units paired with 4 Cortex-A720. This combination is likely in the 1+3+4 cluster formation. Interestingly, the chipset does away with the usual “small” Cortex-A520 units.
The specifics about the device used for this benchmark test remain a mystery, given the ambiguous model number which seems more indicative of a testing unit. The test device was equipped with a robust 16 GB RAM, a 512 GB storage capacity, and ran on Android 14.
This high AnTuTu score is significant for a few reasons. This is the first time where phone has crossed the 2,000,000 benchmark. When we look at the numbers, the picture becomes even more interesting if compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the Dimensity 9300’s CPU performs an impressive 65% better. The GPU’s performance boost is around 55%, while the combination of LPDDR5X RAM with UFS 4.0 storage shows a speed increment of 33%. The UX component also doesn’t lag behind, scoring a remarkable 50% higher.
However, it’s essential to note that these figures primarily reflect raw hardware performance. In real-world usage, the user experience might not see such big differences unless the device has exceptional cooling technology.
As the tech world eagerly awaits, Mediatek remains tight-lipped about the official launch date of the Dimensity 9300. Equally anticipated is the reveal of which smartphones will be the first to harness the power of this promising chipset.
