How to Use Battery Share feature on Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2)

The Nothing Phone (1) and Phone (2) support Qi wireless charging up to 15W, which means they can be charged through a wireless charger, but they also support reverse wireless charging to charge other devices through a phone battery.

The company has named the reverse wireless charging feature “Battery Share” which allows you to charge other devices that support Qi wireless charging by placing it on the back of your phone. Both Phone (1) and Phone (2) support reverse wireless charging up to 5W. Battery share can be used to charge other smartphones, compatible earbuds, and smartwatches.

Steps to Enable Battery Share

  1. On the home screen, swipe down from the top to open the quick settings menu, and scroll left to access the battery share tile. Then tap to enable battery share or long-press to open its settings.

2. After turning on battery share, put your phone screen side down and place the device you want to charge at the center of the back of the phone to charge it wirelessly. The center glyph light blinks, indicating that the device has started charging wirelessly.

3. Another way to access battery share is by going to phone settings and then battery settings. Then tap on battery share to open its setting and turn it on by toggle. Here, you can also set when to stop battery share when your phone reaches a particular battery percentage to save your phone battery.

4. With Nothing OS 2.0 you can also add a battery share quick setting to the Lock screen widget or home screen widget to quickly enable it with just one tap.

Battery Share is a very useful feature in an emergency situation in case someone’s phone battery runs down and you need some charge or to charge your earbuds anywhere with just your smartphone.

Both Nothing Ear (1) and Ear (2) are capable of wireless charging, which enhances the overall Nothing ecosystem. During battery share your phone’s battery will run out faster, and your phone might also get warm. Also, battery share automatically turns off after a few minutes if another device isn’t detected. For better charging remove your phone case and other items that may interfere, like metal objects.
