Google Pixel Phones get Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 Update

Google has released the first Android 14 QPR2 update build to all eligible Pixel smartphones. The QPR1 program reached Beta 2.2 in November. However, instead of releasing a stable QPR1 build in December, Google has decided to move on to QPR2.

This series of updates will eventually serve as the base of the upcoming March 2024 stable update.

The Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 update has been released to all the eligible Pixel devices, even the devices as old as Pixel 5a, has grabbed the update on November 15th. The update comes under the build number AP11.231020.013 for Pixel 5A devices, AP11.231020.014 for Pixel 8 series devices, and the rest of the Pixel devices have the build number AP11.231020.013.A1.

This update brings the support for x86 (64-bit) and ARM (v8-A) emulator support. It is based on the latest November 2023 security patch with the Google Play Services version 23.36.14. All the enrolled users have already got the update on their smartphones.

As per the official information, the following changes or fixes have been made on the latest QPR2 Beta 1 update for the Pixel smartphones. First, as reported in Issue #303849830, there was a bug that caused the package manager to crash during the installation of certain applications. This issue has been resolved.

Second, users occasionally encountered issues submitting feedback via the Android Beta Feedback app. Issue #307592531 has been resolved, removing the impediment that was preventing users from providing valuable feedback. A fix has also been implemented for the issue identified by #306294357, in which some devices were having difficulty connecting to available 5G networks.
