Yesterday, a smartphone got listed on BIS certification under the brand NOTHING, this phone is supposedly the Phone (2a). We had leaks of images, model numbers, and some expected specifications of phone (2a) from a leaker through his tweets. But now we have its actual model number (A142) and battery model number (NT03) which were listed on December 1 and November 17, respectively.
We have a table with information regarding the brand name, its product model number, and inclusion date. In table-1 we can see that Nothing Phone 1 and 2 batteries are listed with their corresponding model number and date of inclusion. The latest addition was a battery with model number NT03 on November 17, and we are expecting the battery to be used in Phone (2a). This table lists the sealed secondary portable lithium system batteries.
In the next table, Table 2, we have all the mobile phones listed under NOTHING. As we can see here, the Phone (1) and (2) are listed with their corresponding model numbers, A063 and AIN065. Yesterday another mobile phone with model number A142 was added to the list, it’s presumably the phone (2a).
Both the battery and actual smartphone getting listed on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification website hints that the Phone (2a) launch is much closer than we expected. After considering the time gap between the launch and listing of Phone(1) & Phone (2) we have assumed that Phone (2a) might launch at the end of Q1 2024 or the start of Q1 2024. The launch of Phone (3) might also be delayed or shifted a few months back to get Phone (2a) sales.
Until now, there is not much we know about the Phone (2a) but through leaks, we know that it’s going to have a 6.7 inch AMOLED Display with a 120 Hz display, a 50MP dual rear camera setup, and 16MP Selfie camera, 4920 mAh battery with Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14 out of the box. The Phone (2a) is also expected to have a center punch hole at the front with a similar back panel design to Phone (1) as per the leaked images. It’s expected to be priced somewhere between RS.32999 to Rs.35999 and launched at the end of Q1 2024.
