Samsung has unveiled new versions of its ultra-short-throw projectors, introducing the Premiere 8K and Premiere 5 as successors to last year’s models, the Premiere LSP7T and LSP9T. These latest additions come with a groundbreaking feature called Lightwarp, which transforms any object or surface into an interactive display.
The Premiere 8K stands out as Samsung’s top-of-the-line projector. True to its name, it supports 8K resolution and boasts the capability to upscale 4K content to 8K. The device is equipped with a robust 100W sound 8.2.2-channel sound system, featuring Dolby Atmos and Sound-on-Screen support. This latter technology creates an immersive experience where the sound appears to emanate directly from the projected screen.
One of the most impressive features of the Premiere 8K is its ability to project a 150-inch image from just a 12-inch distance. It also includes a Wireless One Connect Box, enabling easy connectivity for streaming devices. The box and the projector must be within 10 meters of each other for optimal performance.
The Premiere 5, although smaller, is also quite powerful. Samsung touts it as the world’s most compact triple-laser ultra-short-throw projector. Its dimensions, standing at 20 cm in height, 14 cm in width, and a similar depth, coupled with a weight of just 1.67 kg, make it highly portable. This device can project a 100-inch screen from a distance of 17 inches.
The Lightwarp feature adds an innovative layer of interactivity. Users can project and interact with various widgets like weather, clock, and news on their walls. This feature extends to tabletop games, offering a unique gaming experience.
While Samsung has not yet revealed the pricing and availability details for these projectors, interested customers can sign up for updates on Samsung’s 2024 TV and audio lineups. Those who sign up may receive a $100 discount on their purchase and have the opportunity to win a Freestyle 2nd Gen with Gaming Hub portable projector.
