Nothing OS 2.5.5 Update Brings ChatGPT Integration to Phone (2) Users

Yesterday, Nothing company has pushed new update for Nothing Phone (2) alongside launching their new TWS earbuds Nothing Ear and Ear (a).This update brings lots of new features to the device with improvements and bug fixes.

You can identify the update by its build number Pong-U2.5-240418-1248-IND and its update size of 206 MB. It will take 11 minutes for the successful installation.

Nothing OS 2.5.5 Update for Phone (2)

The headline feature of this update is the integration of ChatGPT, available through the Play Store. Users can now interact with ChatGPT using a new gesture in Nothing X for voice conversations, initially available for Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a) with plans to extend this to other audio products. The update also introduces ChatGPT widgets for launching different modes from the home screen and a new button for pasting clipboard content directly into ChatGPT.

Currently, this feature is only available for Phone (2) users. Later on, other devices such as Nothing Phone (2a) and Phone (1) will also receive this feature via OTA update.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the addition of Ultra XDR in the camera settings and an HDR switch in Photo and Portrait Modes. In the Nothing Community Update Q1| 2024 video, the company highlighted Ultra XDR, P3 Colour, and more true-to-life photos with TrueLens Engine. A new RAM Booster feature aims to enhance device performance, accessible from the System settings.

Quick Settings have been improved with a new Ring Mode option for sound management and a Recorder widget for easy audio recording. The update also includes a Battery widget to help users monitor power usage more effectively and a Glyph Interface Debug Mode in the developer options.

In terms of improvements and bug fixes, the update enhances system stability, NFC functionality, and Wi-Fi connection stability. It also optimizes animations, Bluetooth response speeds in Quick Settings, volume settings, and the Music Player widget’s display of album covers. Numerous bugs have been fixed, including issues with SIM card switching, lock screen flickering, and abnormal lock screen wallpaper display.
