A few months ago, Nothing launched its sub-brand CMF by Nothing, which aimed at making great design more accessible while delivering an uncompromised user experience through a focus on core functions. They launched three products under the CMF by Nothing lineup – earbuds, smartwatch, and a GaN charger.
They launched a smartwatch with the name CMF Watch Pro at $69 (INR 4,999). The watch has a 1.96″ AMOLED display with 600+ Nits of Brightness, a 58 FPS refresh rate, and an Always-on Display.
The watch has always-on display support which means it can stay on all the time by turning off the majority of the pixels on the screen to dim the screen and show glanceable information. With AOD on you can have a look at the time or date anytime on your watch Pro without waking it up or turning it on, also it looks amazing. Although the watch has a wake feature still AOD is useful in many scenarios.
Steps to Enable AOD on CMF Watch Pro
- Scroll down from the top of your CMF Watch Pro to access the quick settings and then tap on the setting icon to open watch settings.
2. Now scroll down to Display & Brightness settings tap to open it and further scroll down to AOD watch face settings.
3. On opening the AOD watch face settings, you have two options. The first is to choose an AOD watch face style from eight different watch faces. It has options for both digital and analog watch faces. Select a watch face from that menu.
4. The next task is to select to enable the AOD on Watch Pro, To do that, come back to AOD settings and tap on Enable method
5. Then there are two ways to enable AOD
- Schedule: set a start time and end time for AOD to turn on and off. Tap on Schedule to set the start and end time.
6. Smart Enable: This is a smart feature as it detects when to enable the AOD, it detects if you are wearing the watch to sleep, or if the watch has been taken off, and automatically turn off AOD.
Also, keep in mind that turning on AOD will definitely affect the battery life on the Watch Pro as the display is turned on for much longer, so it is recommended to use the smart enable method if you use AOD on your Watch Pro. Battery life on the Watch Pro with AOD on with smart enable can last you 3-5 days based on your usage.
Currently, there is no option for custom AOD watch faces, a feature that is available in some of the smartwatches in its segment, and nothing might add it with an update until then you have to settle with the given 8 AOD watch faces.
