Upcoming iPhone 16 series will finally have graphene heat sink tech

The Apple iPhone are no doubt one of the most sold and popular smartphones in the market. Their top-notch Pro variant offers some really decent specs. Their own Bionic SoC are also one of the most powerful smartphone chipset out there. However, despite being so powerful, the lack of proper heat sink or vapour chamber makes it problematic in long gaming sessions. However, according to a new report, Apple has finally acknowledged the issue and is bringing the fix starting from the iPhone 16 lineup.

Apple will add a graphene heat sink on iPhone 16 lineup

There were numerous overheating issues reported with the iPhone 15 lineup of smartphones. The brand did take note of the issue later but instead of acknowledging the lack of heat sink, they blamed software issues for this.

But now, finally, Apple seems to be working on a hardware-level solution to tackle heating and thermal management starting the iPhone 16 series.

Apple iPhone 15

According to a recent rumor circulating in tech circles, Apple is reportedly considering replacing the traditional copper heat sink in its upcoming iPhone 16 with a cutting-edge graphene solution. Given its superior thermal conductivity to copper, graphene’s potential adoption holds a lot of promise. This move is expected to significantly improve the thermal management capabilities of the upcoming iPhone 16.

A novel metal bracket housing designed to accommodate the battery is said to complement the graphene heat sink. This new metal bracket is intended to facilitate improved heat transfer and more efficient cooling mechanisms within the iPhone 16 experience.
