OnePlus Failed to Improve Battery Backup of OnePlus Open Even After November Update

OnePlus Open recently received the November update of OxygenOS 13.2. With this new update, the company improved system stability and performance, along with other improvements related to communication. However, they did fail to improve the Battery Life of the OnePlus Open. We recorded the SOT and battery backup of the device before and after the update, and we did not see any kind of improvements on either build.

The device was used by a single individual during our testing, so the usage pattern is almost the same before and after the update. Most of the time, OnePlus Open was used with wifi, like 80% of the time, and the rest 20%, was with mobile data 4G/5G.

Here you can check out the SOT/Battery Backup before updating on an average OnePlus Open use to deliver anything between 4hrs to 5hrs of SOT/Battery Backup with normal usage. We did not do any kind of gaming. If you see the below screenshots, applications like GSF (Google Services Framework) and SystemUI seem to drain more battery in the background, which is affecting the SOT/Battery Backup.

After updating to the OxygenOS 13.2 November update, we again took sats of battery backup, and if you check the below screenshots, you can see we only got 3h 34min SOT or battery backup. The usage pattern was the same with similar applications and combinations of Wi-Fi and mobile data. However, after the November update, OnePlus Open failed to deliver 4 hours of SOT/Battery backup. It’s not like we only tested once; after testing multiple battery backups, on average we are getting 4 hours of SOT/battery backup.
