Foxconn Shifts iPhone Production to India – Report

Apple’s iPhone 15 Series is going to launch next month. Till now, Apple made 7% of its iPhones in India. Apple started manufacturing iPhones in India in 2017. Apple, an American-based smartphone manufacturing company is now going to make its upcoming iPhone 15 series in its Tamil Nadu plant very soon as reported by Foxconn. Also, a report by Bloomberg also suggests that Foxconn is trying to assemble iPhone 15 in its Sriperumbudur plant.

Cupertino, California-based firm is now trying to change its manufacturing away from China. Along with this, according to a Bloomberg report Pegatron and Wistron may be acquired by Tata Group very soon. Both Pegatron and Wistron are working on manufacturing iPhone 15 in India. As, 3 months after the launch of the iPhone 14, Apple started manufacturing iPhone 14 in India. As with iPhone 14, we can expect to make in India iPhone 15 just after few weeks after its launch.

For now, only base models of iPhones are made in India. Pro and Pro Max models are still made in China. According to a report by PTI, Apple is making its Airpods in its Hyderabad manufacturing plant. Due to politics between US and China, now Apple is trying to slowly move its manufacturing from China.
