iOS 18 New AI Features to Be a Game Changer for iPhone 16

It was recently reported that Apple had to put a momentary halt to iOS 18 development to focus on bug fixes with respect to the software release. The release of the next-generation software will be unaffected by this.

However, reliable analyst Mark Gurman has disclosed upcoming Apple plans for iOS 18 and iPhone 16 in his most recent Power on newsletter. For making significant hardware changes lacking in the phone, the iOS 18 update is said to be the biggest move in years.

Apple wants to be alongside Google and OpenAI in the generative AI market. To maintain the rivalry, the Cupertino-based tech behemoth plans to implement software using generative AI. Simply speaking, generative AI technology is available on iPhones, thanks to iOS 18.

It’s unclear whether additional features can be offered. Gurman said iOS 18 will be released following “a few years of modestly sized updates.” The iOS 18 is reportedly “ambitious and compelling,” with new features and design significant to performance enhancements and security, according to Apple’s senior management on the inside.

According to a report, the next generation iPhone 16 won’t feature any noticeable hardware upgrades. Apple wants the iOS 18, which is packed with extraordinary features, to be the iPhone 16’s standout feature. Therefore, the latest information clarifies the rumor that working on iOS 18 has been stopped by Apple to fix any bugs. The last time the company had to take the initiative was in 2019.

There are four stages in Apple’s development cycle that must be completed before the June Worldwide Developers Conference. Each milestone may last six weeks, with four dedicated to adding the latest features and two to fixing bugs. This time, the company has applied brakes instantly following the first milestone, giving it an extra week to resolve problems.

Gurman also said that the iPad’s next software version might be groundbreaking.
