Sony TV Purchase on Flipkart Unexpectedly Turns Into Thomson TV

A customer’s excitement turned into disappointment and stress after receiving the wrong television from Flipkart. Aryan did a post on X (formerly Twitter ) user under the handle @thetrueindian, shared his troubling experience with an order from Flipkart.

Aryan had ordered “Sony Bravia X7K 55-inch TV” from Flipkart on October 7. The TV was delivered on October 10 and the Sony installation technician arrived the next day to set it up. To Aryan’s shock, the box labeled as a Sony TV actually had a shockingly “Thomson TV”, missing crucial accessories like a stand and a remote.

Immediately after founding another brand TV, Aryan contacted Flipkart customer care. He followed their instructions to upload images of the incorrect product. Despite repeatedly sending the required photos, his return request was filed over two weeks ago and remains unprocessed.

Initially, Flipkart had set a resolution date of October 24. However, before reaching this date the status briefly changed to ‘resolved’ and was later extended to November 1. Aryan reports that as of today, the issue still shows as ‘resolved’ in the system, yet his return request hasn’t been addressed.

Flipkart Sony TV Query Resolved issue

Aryan explained that he had been eagerly waiting for Flipkart’s Big Billion Days (BBD), a major shopping event to buy new TV. His intention was to enjoy the upcoming World Cup on a large high-quality screen. But this incident has not only deprived him of that joy but has also caused significant stress.

The TV was delivered by Delhivery, a courier service. Aryan pointed out that Flipkart provides ‘open box delivery’ which is a service where customers can check the product before accepting delivery – only for items delivered by its own logistics, Ekart. Since his TV was delivered by Delhivery, he did not receive this service.

The seller listed for this item is Omnitechretail. As of now, there has been no response from Flipkart, Sony, Thomson, Delhivery, or Omnitechretail regarding this matter.

This incident actually raises many questions about online shopping platforms where wrong products have been sent to the customers. The companies should verify the product that is being sent and it will improve the accuracy of the deliveries.

We can just help Aryan by reposting the below post and tagging Flipkart support to resolve this matter as soon as possible.
