Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta: What You Need to Know

Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta is now available for Galaxy users in India, giving early testers access to Samsung’s next big Android 16–based upgrade. The beta is currently open for the Galaxy S25 series, and Samsung is expected to expand eligibility once the software becomes more stable. With improved connectivity, creator-centric tools and enhanced device protection, One UI 8.5 marks an important step before the major One UI 9 interface refresh in 2026.

To register, users must install the latest Samsung Members app and sign in with their Samsung account. The Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta Program banner appears on the home screen. After tapping Register and completing the steps, the beta software can be downloaded via OTA.

The update brings several notable upgrades. Quick Share can now identify people in photos and recommend sending images directly to relevant contacts. Audio Broadcast using Auracast allows users to transmit their voice to nearby compatible devices. Storage Share provides seamless file access across Galaxy phones, tablets and Samsung TVs within the My Files app. Security receives a major boost with advanced theft protection, safeguarding data in case the device is lost or stolen.

More visual and interface changes are expected in One UI 9, scheduled for release next year.
