Samsung is launching the Galaxy S25 series, and today we confirmed a detail related to the new phones: their thickness. Known leaker Ice Universe said that the Galaxy S25 will have a thickness of 7.2mm, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be 8.2mm thick.
The camera lenses are protruding by only 1.8mm on the S25 (likely on the S25+) and 2.4mm on the S25 Ultra, whereas in the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the lens protrudes from the edge of the frame by 4.3 mm from the top.
The Galaxy S25 will be just 7.2 mm thick, meaning it’ll be the thinnest Galaxy S flagship in a decade; since the Galaxy S6, launched in April 2015, no Galaxy phone was this thin. 8.2 mm is also the thickness of the Ultra, which has been part of the series since February 2020.
Its body is expected to be 7.2 mm thick, just like the standard S25, which will continue the trend of the last five years: having the same thickness for vanilla and Plus models.
Samsung is rumored to confirm the Galaxy S25 series next month. There is speculation that the Ultra version will stick to the main and telephoto lenses from its predecessor but could see an update in the ultra-wide-angle lens.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra could be one of the only series models to also have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC – and maybe this rumor is misconstrued as well, similar to the ones pertaining to the S24 series last year.
