Samsung Galaxy S24 Series to Unlock Faster with One UI 7 Upgrade

Samsung is testing its upcoming One UI 7, based on Android 15, in public beta. The final version of this software is set to launch with the Galaxy S25 series, expected on January 22, 2025. Once released, One UI 7 will start rolling out to older Samsung devices, beginning with the Galaxy S24 series.

Excitingly, the Galaxy S24 models are getting a significant improvement in fingerprint unlocking speed. A well-known leaker, Ice Universe, shared a demonstration showcasing faster unlocking and clearer sound on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Samsung’s flagship phones already use ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, which are faster and more reliable than optical sensors, especially when your hands are wet. While Samsung has led the way with this technology, the experience occasionally felt slow due to software issues in previous One UI versions.

With One UI 7, Samsung appears to have optimized the animations for unlocking, making the process feel smoother and quicker. This marks a notable improvement over One UI 6, where users often had to disable animations for better speed.

The enhancements are expected to arrive in the next One UI 7 beta update, which could be released in the coming days.
