Realme 16 Pro series is expected to make its debut in India on January 6, 2026, marking the company’s first major smartphone launch of the year. According to early reports, Realme is preparing two models for this release: the Realme 16 Pro and the Realme 16 Pro Plus. Although Realme has not officially confirmed the launch, the growing leaks suggest a significant shift in design, display technology, and camera performance.

At the beginning of the lineup, the Realme 16 Pro may offer an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, with higher options going up to 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. This gives users four memory configurations, making the device more accessible across different price points. The smartphone is said to arrive in three colour options — Grey, Gold and Purple — reflecting a more premium direction compared to the Realme 15 Pro.

A major highlight is the display upgrade. The Realme 16 Pro is expected to feature a 6.78-inch OLED panel with a sharp 1.5K resolution and a fluid 144Hz refresh rate. Despite the larger screen, the phone reportedly maintains a slim 7.75mm profile and a manageable weight of around 192g.

The biggest change appears in the camera department. Realme may equip the 16 Pro with a 200MP primary camera paired with an 8MP secondary lens, marking a substantial improvement over the previous generation’s dual 50MP setup. On the front, a 50MP sensor is expected to handle selfies and video calls. Meanwhile, the Realme 16 Pro Plus variant could further enhance imaging with the addition of a telephoto camera.

With these upgrades, the Realme 16 Pro series is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated mid-range launches of early 2026.
