OnePlus to Unveil Brightest 3,000 Nit Display Next Week

Smartphone displays now-a-days are getting brighter than in the past few years. Currently, OnePlus Open has the brightest display with 2,800 nits if comparing to other smartphones. But now OnePlus is going beyond that as they have have announced that they will be showcasing a device with an impressive 3,000 nits display next week.

For this OnePlus doing doing collaboration with BOE. Their partnership has been described on Weibo as “new dawn” for displays manufactured in China. The level of brightness OnePlus aims to present has rarely been seen before in smartphones. For the explanation, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has peak brightness of 1,750 nits. Then iPhone 14 Pro Max goes up to 2,000 nits, Pixel 8 Pro to 2,400 nits and Oppo Find X6 Pro to 2,500 nits.

Interestingly, there’s a device from OnePlus that’s already close to this brightness level. The OnePlus Open has brightness of 2,800 nits for both its inner and outer foldable panels.

Digital Chat Station added that this forthcoming display from OnePlus won’t just stop at 3,000 nits. It will also support a 1440p resolution and a 2160Hz PWM dimming feature, an improvement from the current 1440Hz panels.

As of now, the specifics of the phone housing this display remain under wraps. More details are expected next week with the official unveiling scheduled for October 24.

However, it’s essential to note that the OnePlus 12 might not come with this brighter display. Because recent leaks suggested the brightness of 2,600 nits for this device.
