OnePlus has officially announced its latest flagship smartphone the OnePlus 13. This new device features the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset making it one of the best offerings from OnePlus to date. The OnePlus 13 also includes a premium BOE display an IP69 ingress protection rating and an impressive 6,000 mAh silicon carbon battery.
The phone was first launched in China and is expected to be available in global markets in the coming months.
Design and Display Improvements
The OnePlus 13 introduces a new design with a 2.5D quad-curved structure. Unlike its predecessors which had more pronounced curves the display now appears flatter while still measuring 6.82 inches diagonally. This change makes the OnePlus 13 slightly shorter than the previous model.
Equipped with BOE’s flagship X2 OLED display the OnePlus 13 boasts an 8T LTPO OLED panel with a resolution of 1440p and a refresh rate that ranges from 1 to 120 Hz. The typical brightness reaches 800 nits while peak brightness can go up to an incredible 4,500 nits. Additionally it features an updated ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for enhanced security.
Enhanced Durability and Feedback
The OnePlus 13 offers an improved IP69 rating which protects against high-pressure liquids and steam cleaning going beyond the previous IP68 rating. Another notable feature is the new vibration motor designed to provide feedback similar to gaming controllers. With a volume of 602mm³ this is claimed to be the largest vibration motor ever included in an Android phone.
Camera Features
On the back of the OnePlus 13 there are three Hasselblad-branded 50MP cameras. The main camera uses a Sony LYT-808 sensor with optical image stabilization. It is complemented by a 3x periscope lens with a 73mm equivalent focal range and an ultrawide camera with a 15mm equivalent focal length that also doubles as a macro shooter.
Operating System and Battery Life
The OnePlus 13 runs ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 for the Chinese market while the international version will likely feature OxygenOS 15. The device is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
