OnePlus has started rolling out the August 2024 security patch for OnePlus 12 in the latest OxygenOS 14.1 update, though the firmware version is still OxygenOS 14.0.0.840. This update comes with some improvements and bug fixes to improve the performance and security on the device.
The update size for this latest firmware is 1.25 GB and it can be identified by its version CPH2573_14.0.0.840(EX01) for OnePlus 12.
Performance Improvements
This build includes performance improvements in the form of improved CPU management and application response. On the stability under heavy loads, there are slightly more points, and more uniform device operation during a long session.
Dynamic Island Feature
Another major addition is the ability to show or hide media playback information in the status bar; this does roughly the same job as the Dynamic Island on other devices. It’s off by default but can be toggled on through the settings under notifications and status bar.
Camera and Animation Improvements
Most significantly, with this update, the camera performs much better, especially at 10x zoom, and produces more natural images with greater detail. Animations across the system are far smoother, making it feel more fluid to the user.
You can check out the camera samples in the video which is available below.
Bug Fixes:
- A fix for the freezing issue in the Gmail app that used to disrupt activity.
- The vibration intensity is tuned, and the notifications appear more prominent.
- Fixed the issues reported for the screen recording in earlier versions
Security and Privacy
OnePlus now integrates the Aug 5, 2024 Android security patch for OnePlus 12 and it makes the device run on the most secure version of the software. It will take care of latest risks and vulnerabilities on the device.
