Nothing, the innovative tech brand founded by Carl Pei, is rumored to be working on three new smartphones. While excitement grows, new information sheds light on the Nothing Phone (3a) and its specifications. However, the high-end Nothing Phone (3) remains elusive.
Earlier, it was reported that three new Nothing smartphones are currently under development. According to a tipster, they are expected to launch by the first half of 2025.
Nothing Phone (3a): A Switch to Snapdragon
The device spotted on Geekbench with the model number A059 is likely the Nothing Phone (3a). Adding credibility to this claim, the model appeared in an IMEI database alongside the A059P, which is expected to be the Nothing Phone (3a) Plus.
In a surprising move, the Phone (3a) will reportedly use the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, marking a switch from MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Pro, which powers its predecessor, the Phone (2a). Similarly, the Phone (3a) Plus may see a slight SoC upgrade from the Dimensity 7350 Pro used in the Phone (2a) Plus.
Speculations About the Third Device
A third model, identified as A001, has also appeared in the IMEI database. While there’s speculation this could be the Nothing Phone (3), it’s more likely to be the CMF Phone 2, an affordable offering under Nothing’s CMF brand. The CMF Phone 2 is also rumored to sport the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset.
It is expected that all three upcoming smartphones will ship with Android 15 pre-installed. The Phone (2a) launched in March, so its successor could debut within the next few months, likely by early 2025.
The Mystery of Nothing Phone (3)
Fans eagerly awaiting the flagship Nothing Phone (3) may have to hold their excitement a little longer. Nothing has confirmed plans for a high-end device, but it won’t arrive until 2025. The second half of next year could finally see its release.
