Nothing has officially launched the “Circle to Search” feature for its smartphones running on Nothing OS 3.0, based on Android 15. This innovative feature, announced through the Nothing Community, allows users to easily search for items by drawing a circular motion on their screens.
Supported Devices
Currently, the feature is available for the following devices:
- Nothing Phone (2)
- Nothing Phone (2a)
- Nothing Phone (2a) Plus
Unfortunately, the CMF Phone 1 and Nothing Phone (2), still running the beta version of Nothing OS 3.0, do not yet support this feature. However, the Phone (2a) Plus has received this feature even while on the Nothing OS 3.0 Beta. This feature is expected to roll out to the remaining phones in future updates.
How Does It Work?
“Circle to Search” enables users to select an object on their screen by drawing a circle around it. The phone then uses AI technology, like Google Lens, to identify and search for the selected item. This functionality can be used for:
- Finding information about a product or item.
- Translating on-screen text into various languages.
- Identifying music playing nearby with a simple tap on the music icon.
Activating the Feature
To activate “Circle to Search,” go to:
Settings → Special Features → Gestures → Navigation Mode
If the feature isn’t visible, restart your device and ensure you have the latest updates installed.
Key Highlights
- Ease of Use: Works with both three-button and gesture-based navigation.
- Multi-Purpose Functionality: Search, translate, and share directly from the feature.
- Music Recognition: Identify songs seamlessly, including regional tracks.
