Nothing Phone (2) Gets Nothing OS 2.6 Update with New Game Mode

Nothing Phone (2) users will now get new features and improvements with the Nothing OS 2.6 update. This update also brings the July 2024 security patch along with some bug fixes.

This update can be identified by its build number Pong-U2.6-240628-0430-IND and its size is 87.30 MB. It will take 10 minutes for the installation on your Phone (2).

A number of changes have been made to this new update for better user experience. A new option in Wallpaper Studio will allow clearing the wallpaper history. The setup process of the Weather Widget/app has been improved with pop-up reminders in order to add cities more easily. For those using the CMF Watch, the update brings a new feature to the Quick Settings Bluetooth tile, which now shows the battery level of the watch. The Nothing earbuds’ Low Lag Mode has also been optimized for a smoother audio experience.

Gamers will appreciate new improvements in Game Mode. Quick tap of the left sidebar brings up the Game Dashboard in gameplay with its handy tools and stats available to peruse without ever having to leave the game. Incoming calls can now appear in a pop-up view, reducing the amount of intrusion on your game. Also added is third-party app callees rejection while playing a game, one-tap callback of rejected calls, and optimization of light notifications so that it can show more information during games. Apart from enabling the support for blocking of notifications during games, people can keep their undivided attention.

The update also fixes multiple bugs for smoother operation. Fixes include the issues of voice and call recording on WhatsApp, anomalies during emergency calls, and a malfunction in the Cloned Apps feature where not all apps could be cloned properly. Besides the specific fixes listed above, there are other general bug fixes to improve overall stability and performance.
