We all know Nothing has released the first Android 14 Beta build of Nothing OS 2.5. We have been using this Nothing Phone (2) for the past week, and we did notice the battery backup is not up to mark with Nothing OS 2.0 Android 13. In our normal usage, we always had great SOT (Screen on time) which was always 6 hours plus. We don’t do gaming on the Phone (2) so below battery backups or screen on is completely with much heavy tasking.
Battery Backup After Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta Update
Soon after installing, we should always have a system to adapt our usage pattern so that the device can deliver the best battery backup depending on our usage. But always remember that battery backup will not be the same individual it depends on tons of factors. In our testing, we used a Wi-Fi network most of the time. So check the battery graph below. With the first cycle, we got 3 hours and 16 minutes of SOT with normal usage and we also noticed Google Play services were draining a lot of battery in the first 3 cycles.
We noticed a slight improvement in battery backup with the 4th cycle, where the Screen on time was close to 6 hours which was 5 hours and 42 minutes. But it’s still less than what we used to get on Nothing OS 2.0 based on Android 13. In all four cycles, we noticed battery backup is not that good on Nothing OS 2.5 based on Android 14. As of now hope Nothing optimizes the OS and with the stable release then we can get better battery backup.
