In the recent open beta release of Nothing OS 3.0, the tech company made a bold move by removing the popular N-Dot font, sparking strong reactions from its user community. Many loyal users expressed disappointment over the change, noting that N-Dot had become a unique part of the Nothing OS experience.
In response to the feedback, Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, acknowledged the reactions and admitted the company may have moved a little too fast in changing its design. Pei said, “Thanks for all the feedback. We went a bit too hard on this and instead should have evolved our design language more gradually over time.”
In an exciting update for fans, Pei also confirmed that Nothing will bring back the N-Dot font as an option. It will initially be available as a lock screen clock option, with the team also exploring the possibility of adding it to the main Settings menu as a display choice. This decision reflects Nothing’s commitment to listening to its community and keeping elements that make the OS stand out.
With these changes, the company aims to balance its vision for innovation while honoring the preferences of its loyal user base. I think the font will be back in Nothing OS 3.0 Open Beta 2 update and its coming out in November.
