My Experience with Jio AirFiber: A Warning for Others

In this article, I want to share my experience with Jio AirFiber and why I think you should avoid it. After using it for six months, I’ve faced many problems that have caused me a lot of frustration. Here’s a detailed look at the issues:

Unified Network Issues

Jio AirFiber does not provide separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. This has been a big problem for my wife, who works from home using a VPN. Her laptop keeps switching between the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks based on signal strength, leading to constant disconnections. This has made her work very difficult.

Unstable Ping

For gamers like me, Jio AirFiber is a nightmare. The ping is never stable, which has ruined my gaming experience, especially while playing BGMI. The constant fluctuations in ping over the past six months have been very frustrating.

Speed Drops

Despite having a 100 Mbps plan, the internet speed often drops to 2-3 Mbps. This makes even basic browsing a hassle. The frequent speed drops have been a major inconvenience.

Outage Communication

Jio AirFiber does not notify users during outages. When there is an outage, you are left in the dark. Even after the issue is fixed, you need to manually restart the router. This lack of communication is very unprofessional and frustrating.

Poor Customer Support

The customer support is terrible. They often hang up if they do not have answers to your queries. It is extremely difficult to get help or information from them.

Limited Compatibility

The Jio setup box only works with Jio’s network. During outages, you cannot use this setup box with other internet services, which means you miss out on additional services.

My Experience

I bought Jio AirFiber six months ago after moving to a new place with limited internet service options. I paid Rs 7000 for a six-month plan with one month free. From the beginning, I faced issues with weekly outages lasting about four hours. I raised over ten complaints about connectivity issues, but the regular outages usually took four hours to resolve.

On June 15th, there was another major outage, I waited four hours before calling customer support, who asked for another four hours. This continued for days. As of today, the outage remains unresolved. I have decided to discontinue using Jio AirFiber and have switched to a local broadband service. I deeply regret purchasing Jio AirFiber and do not recommend buying Jio products anymore.
