iPhone 16 Survives Rigorous Durability Test, Proving Its Strength

After much anticipation, the iPhone 16 has finally been put through JerryRigEverything’s famous durability test.

The test puts the most affordable 2024 iPhone through scratching, burning, and bending challenges.

Apple’s Ceramic Shield glass, used for the iPhone 16’s screen, performed well under the scratch test. It showed marks at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, with deeper scratches at level 7. While this is similar to other glass, the scratches on Apple’s screen were much less visible.

The phone’s frame is made from 85% recycled aluminum, adding to its appeal. It also showed strong resistance to heat—the screen handled an open flame without lasting damage. As for bending, the iPhone 16 proved to be impressively sturdy. It stayed intact even when pressure was applied from both the front and back.
