Google One Hits 100 Million Subscribers, Launches New AI Plan

Google One, the cloud storage service by Google has hit a new high with over 100 million paying subscribers. Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO, shared the news and talked about plans for more growth, including a new AI Premium Plan.

Google One helps users get more storage than the free 15GB that comes with Google accounts for Gmail, Drive, and Photos. Here’s a quick look at what Google One offers:

  • Basic Plan (100GB): For $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year, this plan lets up to five people share the storage. It also has extra photo editing tools like Magic Eraser, VPN for online safety, and checks for personal info on the dark web.
  • Standard Plan (200GB): This costs $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year. It’s like the Basic but adds a 3% back on what you buy from the Google Store.
  • Premium Plan (2TB and more): Starting at $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, this plan has bigger storage options, better features for Google Workspace tools, and a 10% back on Google Store purchases. You can get even more than 2TB if you need it.

The new AI Premium plan costs $19.99 a month. It uses Google’s Gemini AI to add cool features like writing drafts in Gmail, sorting out Slides, and making charts in Sheets. Right now, if you have a plan with 5TB or more, you can try these AI tools for free until July 31, 2024.

Google plans to offer the AI Premium to more people, including Google Fi Unlimited customers and those who pay for Google One through other companies.

Pichai says adding AI features will help Google One grow even more. This big moment for Google One comes as YouTube Music + Premium also reaches 100 million users.
