Asus is all set to launch the ROG Phone 8, its latest gaming phone and fans now have a date to mark on their calendars. The company has announced that the 2024 ROG lineup, including the ROG Phone 8 series, will be introduced on January 8 at the CES event in Las Vegas. Additionally, the official ROG Weibo account confirmed that the phone will launch in China on January 16.
The excitement around the ROG Phone 8 is high, especially with the release of a teaser video from the Chinese ROG account. This video gives us a first look at the phone’s display, showing a punch-hole cutout – a first for the ROG Phone series. The new display also features slimmer bezels compared to previous models, indicating a sleeker design.
Asus isn’t holding back on giving sneak peeks of the ROG Phone 8. They recently teased close-up renders of the phone which highlights its new back design. The most noticeable change is the pentagon-shaped camera cutout, signaling a fresh approach to the phone’s aesthetics. The company is also conducting a blind camera test for the ROG Phone 8. This suggests significant improvements in the camera setup, although specifics about the sensors remain under wraps.
As for the technical specifications, the ROG Phone 8 is expected to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 24GB RAM, and support for 65W charging. The phone will also come with Android 14, giving users the latest software experience.
